Bequia has many beautiful white sand beaches, our own beach, Spring Bay is just a short stroll though the coconut plantation. Industry Beach in the next bay, is a pleasant walk or a few minutes by car.
Bequia is a charming, small, old fashioned Caribbean island of volcanic origin. Only six square miles, its hills run from an elevation of over 800 feet down to fertile valleys at sea level. Although not a tropical rain forest, its foliage grows lushly most of the year.
Yachts from all over the world come to Admiralty Bay, considered one of the safest harbours in the Grenadines. Port Elizabeth is the main town, located at the harbour, with a main street which extends several blocks. You will find a variety of shops, banks, grocery stores, bars and restaurants. There is lots to do on Bequia, a wide variety of restaurants and bars, "jump ups" (dances), model boat building museums, sightseeing, snorkelling, diving and great hiking. Day trips to other islands can also easily be arranged by our staff.
Many Caribbean nationals come to Bequia to regain a sense of the Caribbean as it used to be. There are no high-rises, no golf courses, no chrome or glitter. They still build boats by hand, and live the simple Caribbean life. Coming to Bequia is more like an adventure than just a vacation. It is the island one dreams of finding, with its lovely beaches, rolling hills, beautiful flowers, and friendly people. The weather is great, averaging in the 80's all year. |
